Opening for the 2007 - 2008 School Year

Our Kindergarten program is a full day, five day per week program for children in their Kindergarten year. The curriculum offers instruction in the basic subjects including reading, math, science and social studies. We utilize a variety of multi-sensory, instructional programs to meet the needs of our students. Wilson instruction, Handwriting Without Tears, Wanna Play social skills instruction as well as many other strategies make up our program. Our school is dedicated to a low student-teacher ratio for our instructional program.

Language development is an important component for every young child. Since we are committed to the appropriate development of language skills for our students, our Speech Pathologist will be in the class working with the students every day, five days per week.  Fine and gross motor skills development are also an integral part of a child’s development and has great impact on the acquisition of reading and writing skills. Our Occupational Therapist will work with the children three times per week on fine and gross motor skill development.

Art theater, Music and Yoga are all part of the special services offered in our program. Our Art program emphasizes the process of art rather than the product of art, thus ensuring that each child learns to appreciate his/her ability to create art. In Music our students learn the basics of choral music. Yoga presents each child with the opportunity to learn how to find calm in a very busy world.

We foster a sense of community in which each child’s unique intellectual, physical, and emotional gifts are valued and nurtured. We assist our children in overcoming obstacles using creative solving both in and out of the classroom. Our Kindergarten program presents each child with the knowledge he/she will need to succeed in school, using a multi-sensory approach, and keeping as our primary focus the importance of each child’s unique qualities.
